The Senior Software Engineer II role is primarily responsible for the support of the existing software applications and enhanced software components deployed in the Cotiviti product suite. The successful candidate will be required to collaborate effectively with senior developers, offshore development team members, business owners, project management, and other internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and improvement of high-quality software modules for the Cotiviti product suite.
  • Analyze and resolve complex software related issues including identification of root causes originating from internal or external customers.
  • Champion comprehensive documentation of the specifications, design, features, and operation of applications prior to production roll out.
  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of the primary discipline and a strong undertanding of related disciplines.
  • Design and implement solutions that significantly improve performance / availability.
  • Proactively communicate technical and operational issues to both engineering and business leadership in a timely manner, providing clear recommendations.   • Ensure that all technology standards are adhered to while developing systems, while also evaluating and recommending new standards for improved practices.
  • Explore new ideas and make innovative contributions to existing processes or systems which improve efficiency and results.
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies, recommending those that improve efficiency and results for integration into the Cotiviti product suite.
  • Execute all appropriate facets of the Cotiviti Software Development Lifecycle with a desire for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering their growth and development within the team.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Must have 4+ years’ Healthcare data experience.
  • Proficiency in working with large datasets.
  • 5+ years' experience with relational databases.
  • 5+ years' experience working with ETL processes.
  • Optimization and tuning of SQL/Oracle queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Advanced understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design.
  • 5+ years' experience with MS Access.
  • 5+ years' experience with scripting languages: VBScript or PowerShell.
  • 5+ years' experience with Java frameworks or.Net Framework.
  • 2+ years' experience with No-SQL, preferably graph databases.
  • Experience using AI to assist in the SDLC.
  • Knowledge of one or more enterprise scheduling tools.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.

What we're looking for: 

  • Strong experience with T-SQL and/or PL/SQL development in enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on experience designing, maintaining, and optimizing large-scale data pipelines and backend data platforms.
  • Experience with Azure Cloud technologies, including Azure SQL, Azure Blob Storage, and cloud-based data solutions.
  • Experience working with big data technologies, including Hadoop, Spark, Scala, and Apache NiFi.
  • Knowledge of graph databases such as Neo4j or TigerGraph, including experience writing Cypher queries.
  • Strong understanding of database performance tuning, indexing strategies, partitioning, and query optimization.
  • Experience with healthcare data analysis, healthcare data processing, or healthcare information systems preferred.
  • Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI, SSIS, and SSRS.
  • Proficiency with Linux environments, shell scripting, and source control tools such as Git or Azure DevOps.
  • Ability to leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve development efficiency and software delivery.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • This is a remote position - must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area with reliable hi-speed internet.

Base compensation ranges from $134,000 to $165,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

This role is based remotely and all interviews will be conducted virtually.
