Minimum Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required; Master's preferred.
Certifications
- GCP certifications strongly preferred (e.g., Google Professional Cloud Architect, Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer; Google Associate Cloud Engineer accepted for candidates with strong hands-on GCP experience).
Minimum Related Work Experience
- 5+ years of experience in cloud operations, infrastructure engineering, or a related role.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience managing GCP environments in production, including Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, VPC/Shared VPC, IAM, Cloud Monitoring, and related services.
- 3+ years of experience with automation and scripting using Python, Go, or Bash.
- 3+ years of experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, Terraform on GCP strongly preferred; Deployment Manager familiarity a plus.
- Strong experience with monitoring, alerting, and observability platforms including Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Cloud Trace; experience with Datadog, Splunk, or PagerDuty a plus
- Demonstrated experience leading incident response and conducting root cause analysis in complex cloud environments.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible) and GCP-native automation via Cloud Build or Cloud Scheduler.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, and Cloud Deploy; GitOps workflows a plus.
- Experience with container technologies and orchestration platforms, specifically Docker and GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine); Cloud Run experience a plus.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, load balancing, firewalls, and VPNs — with hands-on GCP experience across Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud Armor, Private Service Connect, and VPC peering.
- Experience with cloud cost management and optimization strategies using GCP tools such as Cloud Asset Inventory, Recommender, and BigQuery billing export.
- Proven ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex operational issues for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Base compensation ranges from $125,000 to $150,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
