Overview

The Business Product Owner - Content & Enablement (C&E) is aligned to our Content and Enablement team within the Enterprise of Data Mining and Yield Management. This role will partner will various divisions and levels of leadership within the whole organization.

 

The Business Product Owner (within Payment Policy Operations) will be responsible for leading technology product roadmaps supporting Research operational processes as the business lead working closely with a wide group of stakeholders for solution design and delivery. This position will also support other operational activities on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate cross-functional process gap analysis and recommends future state process enhancements to drive efficiency and quality improvements.
  • Establishes a product vision and roadmap to help position the organization for growth and scalability, effectively leverages technology to drive automation and innovation.
  • Works closely with Medical Directors and other stakeholders to ensure requirements are well documented and meets the strategic objectives of the projects.
  • Collaborates with the IT team to ensure solution architecture and workflow supports both the “what” and the “how” aspects of the work.
  • Collaborates with the Business Analysts and Solution Architect to continually mature the backlog, focusing on profitability of the product (ROI).
  • Prioritizes backlog, defines, and decomposes features and epics of the product into User Stories and defines acceptance criteria for features.
  • Attends all product team events, Sprint Planning and Sprint Demo for each team.
  • Works directly with the delivery team to set clear expectations, to accept or reject deliverables.
  • Decides most appropriate release date for content, adjusting features and priorities as needed.
  • Works with other Product Owners to prioritize feature and stories with external dependencies.
  • Works effectively with others to remove delivery roadblocks.
  • Leads business review sessions and user acceptance testing sessions to ensure product design meets requirements reducing rework and accelerating pace of delivery.
  • Escalates issues requiring executive attention promptly supported by an objective assessment and recommendation.
  • Identifies risks and implements risk mitigation plans.
  • Owns end-user communication and training strategy on defined Products.
  • Works with training development to ensure content effectively maps product capabilities to business process execution.
  • Participates as required in key management discussions and supports the annual planning process to ensure department goals are aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Produces work that reflects a focus on quality in consideration of the client’s (internal and external) needs and qualitative self-review process.
  • Communicates and supports company and departmental goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • High school Diploma – Required
  • Bachelor’s degree (Preferred).
  • Clinical or product background (Preferred).
  • 10+ years’ experience in US healthcare; Health plan experience (Preferred).
  • Experience in product development liaising between business and technical teams.
  • Experience in Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
  • Experience in process definition and continuous quality improvement. Flexibility in thought and approach to problem solving.
  • Experience in consulting within a healthcare coding and reimbursement.
  • Ability to understand process inputs/outputs and effects of all. Strong understanding of system or product development lifecycle.
  • Builds credibility and establishes influence with internal team members and client team members in a way that leads individuals to solicit and follow advice or direction.
  • Strong focus on detail, root-cause analysis, and change management.
  • Strong knowledge and capability for process improvement, process management, and measurement.
  • Experience in private sector/ Health plan operations, with focus on reimbursement, medical coding (CPT, ICD-10).
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in presentation, facilitation, and negotiation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point). Professional with ability to properly handle confidential information.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work within a matrix organization.
  • Must have ability to positively handle/manage stress, such as high work volume and frequent change.
  • Must have flexibility and willingness to participate in the work processes of an international organization, including conference calls scheduled to accommodate global time zones.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to provide high-speed internet access/connectivity and office setup and maintenance.
  • No adverse environmental conditions expected.

Base compensation ranges from $115,000 to $145,000. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
