Overview

Cotiviti is seeking an experienced Lead Data Scientist to drive the architectural design and implementation of advanced analytics and machine learning solutions for healthcare claims processing. This role will provide technical leadership in developing predictive analytics systems that enhance operational efficiency and decision-making capabilities across our healthcare analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and architecture of advanced machine learning and AI solutions for complex healthcare
    data challenges
  • Develop and implement scalable data pipelines and analytical workflows to support enterprise level
    predictive modeling initiatives
  • Provide strategic leadership for the design and architecture of advanced machine learning and AI solutions
    across complex healthcare data environments.
  • Develop and oversee enterprise-scale data pipelines and analytical workflows that enable predictive
    modeling initiatives impacting multiple business units.
  • Drive technology strategy and selection, establishing technical roadmaps for AI/ML capabilities with longterm business alignment.
  • Drive technology selection and establish technical roadmaps for AI/ML capabilities
  • Design and oversee implementation of feature engineering strategies and model deployment frameworks
  • Mentor and guide team members in machine learning best practices and advanced analytical techniques
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Define and implement model evaluation frameworks and performance optimization strategies
  • Lead the development of predictive modeling systems for complex pattern recognition and classification
    tasks
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare data governance and regulatory requirements
  • Drive innovation in analytical approaches and champion adoption of emerging technologies including
    generative AI models to assist in development and analysis
  • Increase team output and efficiency through innovation and adoption of assistive AI technologies
  • Provide technical leadership in solving complex data science challenges
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; 8 years with a Master's degree; or 5
    years with a PhD; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and predictive analytics, with
    proven proficiency in statistical modeling.Deep expertise in distributed computing frameworks and big data
    technologies
  • Expert level proficiency in Python and experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikitlearn)
  • Strong experience with cloud-based ML platforms and services
  • Proven track record of deploying production grade machine learning solutions at scale
  • Experience with healthcare claims data and understanding of healthcare industry workflows
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring technical teams
  • Strong understanding of MLOps practices, model lifecycle management, and the additional requirements
    generative AI brings to MLOps.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Experience with compliance frameworks and data governance in regulated industries
  • Experience in using assistive AI to improve quality and efficiency of analytics and modeling processes
  • Demonstrated use of agentic AI constructs including retrieval augmented generation (RAG), prompt security
    and management, and model context protocols (MCP’s)

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to provide high-speed internet access / connectivity and office setup and maintenance.
  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.

Base compensation ranges from $195,000 to $235,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
