Overview

The Vice President, Technical Transformation is a senior strategic leader responsible for driving large-scale, cross-discipline, enterprise-wide initiatives with high executive visibility. These initiatives include technology modernization programs, post-merger integrations, international operations expansion, systems implementations, and other strategic projects as directed. The VP will oversee the evaluation, adoption, and integration of emerging technologies, ensuring transformation strategies align with business objectives, optimize operations, and position the organization for sustained growth.

 

This role requires a highly self-driven leader capable of independently guiding projects from vision to execution, while coordinating efforts across diverse functions including Executive Leadership, Finance, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Research & Development, Legal, Compliance, and external partners. Success demands the use of varied tools, approaches, and formal methodologies tailored to each unique initiative, as well as the ability to lead cross-functional teams, engage executive stakeholders, and champion a culture of innovation, agility, and change readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead high-impact, enterprise-wide transformation projects—each with potential impacts exceeding $500K—spanning technology modernization, post-merger integration, system migrations, cloud adoption, automation, and international operations.
  • Develop and execute a multi-year technical transformation strategy aligned with corporate goals, ensuring scalability, security, operational efficiency, and measurable ROI.
  • Coordinate and align efforts across diverse functions including Sales & Client Engagement, Finance, Operations, Legal, HR, R&D, IT, and external partners, fostering seamless collaboration and clear accountability.
  • Adapt project management methodologies to fit the unique scope and requirements of each initiative, while maintaining detailed project plans and providing concise, strategic updates to senior leadership and the C-suite.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities for technical innovation that drive competitive advantage and position the organization for future growth.
  • Oversee enterprise architecture design and deployment to optimize performance, security, and sustainability.
  • Implement change management strategies that encourage adoption, reduce disruption, and promote a culture of innovation.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and project management best practices, incorporating relevant advancements into organizational strategy.
  • Establish KPIs and work closely with Finance to track financial impact, performance, and long-term value of transformation initiatives.
  • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing technical and program management teams to deliver consistent, exceptional results.
  • Hire, develop, coach, lead and retain top-tier talent, with a focus on building and improving a team and culture that is able to assist in employing best in class practices to support and drive high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of progressive technology leadership, including 5+ years in executive roles, and 12–15 years directing large-scale projects within global organizations. Proven track record leading enterprise-wide and global transformation, modernization, and change management initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • PMP or CAPM (or equivalent) required.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, enterprise architecture, digital process automation, and emerging technology adoption. Background in mergers and acquisitions projects and large-scale software development environments preferred.
  • Ability to translate corporate strategy into actionable technical plans, with strong business acumen and a focus on ROI-driven decision-making. Familiarity with financial reporting methods and terminology.
  • Skilled at working with globally distributed teams and large software engineering groups, including remote leadership across multiple time zones.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, video conferencing platforms, and software development lifecycle methodologies.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Travel as assigned. (5%)
  • Must be able to provide high-speed internet access / connectivity and office setup and maintenance.
  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
