Overview

Opening available for Senior Software Engineer - Spark at Cotiviti, Inc. in South Jordan, UT:

 

Design, develop, support, and enhance software applications and modules for the Cotiviti product suite. Design, debug, implement, and maintain stored procedures, triggers, and user-defined functions that are stored in the database management system. Optimize data ingestion engine using database creation and management skills. Enhance claim selection algorithm to select high return claims using data analytics stills. Support the conversion of SQL concepts into Spark for complex logic. Onboard all commercial healthcare clients’ selections from SQL to Spark in Cloudera. Reconcile between Spark and SQL DCS, data, concepts, and exclusions comparison to ensure accuracy. Analyze and resolve software related issues originated from internal or external customers. Document the specifications, design, features, and operation of applications prior to production roll out. Execute solution enhancements to improve software performance and availability. Communicate technical and operational issues to engineering and business leadership in a timely manner. Ensure that all technology standards are adhered to while developing systems. Explore new ideas and make innovative contributions to existing processes or systems which improve efficiency and results. Continuously improve and enhance knowledge of new technologies as selected and integrated into the Cotiviti product suite. Execute all appropriate facets of the Cotiviti software development lifecycle with a desire for continuous improvement. Collaborate effectively with senior developers, offshore development team members, business owners, project management, and other internal stakeholders. Mentor other developers.

 

Requires a bachelor’s degree (or higher), or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field plus 4 years of data analytics experience in the healthcare industry. Also requires 4 years of experience: working with large volume relational data sets; optimizing and tuning SQL queries, stored procedures and triggers; and with PL/SQL, SQL Server, .Net, and Microsoft Access; and 3 years of experience with Spark, Scala, Unix, and Cloudera. Telecommuting available anywhere in the U.S. Company headquarters located at 10701 South River Front Pkwy, Suite 200, South Jordan, UT 84095.

 

Base compensation ranges from $132,986 to $145,000. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
