Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our strategic sourcing team. The ideal candidate will have a background in sourcing, supplier management, or purchasing. This role requires an analytical thinker with the drive for continuous improvement in our sourcing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Sourcing Strategies: Implement directed sourcing strategies for low-risk projects to reduce costs.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with vendors to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Cost Reduction Initiatives: Track departmental cost-saving opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to understand their needs and ensure sourcing strategies align with business objectives.
  • Technology Utilization: Utilize P2P system and other sourcing software to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Compliance: Follow corporate and department purchasing policies, procedures, and playbooks.
  • Utilize strategic sourcing processes to recommend supply solutions that maximize value.
  • Work independently to manage and complete a queue of tasks.
  • Hire, develop, coach, lead, and retain top-tier talent, with a focus on building and improving a team and culture that is able to assist in employing best-in-class practices to support and drive high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Skills:
    • Analytical: Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis.
    • Negotiation: Secure favorable terms and conditions with vendors.
    • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving abilities to address complex sourcing challenges.
    • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting
  • Technology Savvy:  Familiarity with ERP systems and sourcing software (P2P, CLM).

Cognitive/Mental Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and understanding of when to escalate issues.
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data and identify supply chain patterns and profiles.
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
  •  No adverse environmental conditions expected.

Base compensation ranges from $75,000 to $85,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
