Overview

The Sr. Vice President, Corporate Controller, is responsible for providing overall direction of the Company’s accounting, internal control, finance shared services and audit activities. This position is responsible for the enhancement, development, implementation, and enforcement of policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation, effectiveness, and control environment of the organization. The Sr. Vice President, Corporate Controller, will also manage a variety of accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, revenues and expenses, and assets, liabilities, and equity while providing timely and accurate financial and operating information to internal users and the public, and provides support and counsel to the Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Assure effective application and adoption of a variety of complex accounting functions to support and assist in the accurate preparation and timely completion of financial reporting, essential to the operations of the Company.
  • Assure that financial statements are in compliance with GAAP, SOX, and other regulatory requirements. Ensure that regulatory and compliance requirements are met through accurate reporting and maintaining and upholding applicable accounting policies and processes.
  • Direct the monthly financial close process and financial reporting process.
  • Research, interpret, and apply regulatory accounting, while participating in compliance training and other appropriate training as required to maintain knowledge of financial activities and remain current with laws and regulations.
  • Manage the international finance functions and statutory accounting process.
  • Work closely with the Company’s tax function and strategic tax planning.
  • Manage, support, and coach the Accounting team, assisting in their ongoing training and development. Direct regional finance leads in their daily functions, responsible for training, delegating, and response to internal data requests.
  • Provide support to strategic acquisitions and/or mergers as required. Provide support and assistance and perform other related projects as assigned in support of the daily functions and special projects of the Finance department and Company.
  • Act as the primary liaison with the Company’s auditors.
  • Hire, develop, coach, lead, and retain top-tier talent, with a focus on building and improving a team and culture that is able to assist in employing best in class practices to support and drive high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. Master’s degree in business administration, finance, or accounting preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
  • Must possess 15+ years significant financial experience and 8+ years leading and developing a corporate accounting function in a private and public environment.
  • Experience with Netsuite core applications.
  • Demonstrated depth of GAAP accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • Multi-platform reporting, including adherence to, and understanding of, internal Management and third-party accounting and reporting requirements.
  • Strong understanding of the organization and its strategic direction, as well as the industry and current business cycles and challenges.
  • Can effectively provide direction and feedback to staff members without a direct reporting relationship and demonstrates commitment to sharing knowledge with peers and to developing others.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with people at different levels in the organization.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
  • No adverse environmental conditions expected.

Base compensation ranges from $250,000.00 to $310,000.00. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
