Overview

As the DCO Director you will be responsible for the management, strategy, and execution of Datacenter infrastructure for Cotiviti. You will be overseeing technical projects in alignment with organizational goals and coaching direct reports within the organization. Directing the effective delivery of rack, space, cabling, power, capacity of the datacenters, and corporate offices IDF / MDF closets as well as processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the performance of team(s) of data center operation processionals.
  • Ensure effective and efficient management of day-to-day data center operations including queue management, 7/24 shift arrangement and hardware logistics.
  • Fast learn or act as the subject matter expert across all aspects in data center operations.
  • Ensure all operational KPIs and metrics are being measured and met.
  • Inspire and guide improvement in team process, technology innovation and automation.
  • Manage Large Scale Events (outages) and act as the call leader.
  • Manage and improve the workflows and through-put for data centers operations.
  • Be passionate about the quality and quantity of services being provided, and continuously strive to improve our Customer Experience.
  • Hire, develop, coach, lead and retain top-tier talent, with a focus on building and improving a team and culture that is able to assist in employing best in class practices to support and drive high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction. Required.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Computer Science/MIS or technically related field or equivalent professional experience with a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with IT systems and IT management at a senior level with progressively responsible experience in large and diverse business settings. Familiarity with health care organizations and controls is expected.
  • Broad IT infrastructure and application architecture knowledge with proven track record of evaluating, planning and implementing enterprise-level turnkey projects in complex business environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of formal information security standards and best practices. Knowledge of HIPAA standards and first-hand experience with HITRUST, NIST or similar security standards and audit processes.
  • Good understanding of IT Governance policies and procedures, ITIL methodologies and tools, and demonstrated business savvy to recognize and align key business and technology goals.
  • Demonstrated project and team management skills and ability to track and report progress against established milestones, metrics and deliverables.
  • Must possess strong communication, leadership, managerial, interpersonal, analytical and decision-making skills, along with strong personal and professional integrity.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of data center MEP Infrastructure: Power, Cooling & Facilities Management.
  • In-depth knowledge on data center operations, processes, and continuous processes improvement.
  • Experience in data center Safety and Security measures.
  • Knowledge of data center server capacity planning.
  • ITIL Foundation, PMP, Lean, Six Sigma and/or Risk related certifications.
  • Data Center related certification - CDCP/S/E, CDCMP/TP.
  • Linux certification and/or administration experience - RHCSA/RHCE, LPIC, Linux+.
  • Manage vendor relationships that pertain to the effective delivery of production and ensuring capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles.

  • Leadership and Communication: Excellent leadership skills to manage and inspire cross-functional teams. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of data center technologies, including networking, storage, power, cooling, and virtualization. Familiarity with compliance standards like ISO 27001, SOC 2, or GDPR.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring that systems are monitored continuously to prevent downtime and data loss. Maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to operational standards.
  • Stress Management: Ability to handle high-pressure environments, especially during critical system failures or outages.

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Mobility: Ability to move around the data center to inspect equipment, check hardware, and supervise staff on-site.
  • Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to configure hardware, replace server components, or perform other technical tasks.
  • Visual and Auditory Ability: Clear vision to read screens, schematics, and system indicators. Ability to hear alarms, system notifications, or team communication over noisy equipment.
  • Lifting and Handling: Occasionally lifting equipment such as servers or cables (usually up to 50 lbs).
  • Extended Periods of Sitting or Standing: Monitoring systems, working on computers, or attending long meetings.
  • Adaptability to Environmental Conditions: Working in a climate-controlled data center with potential exposure to cool temperatures, noise, and artificial lighting.
  • Emergency Response Capability: Availability to respond quickly during off-hours to emergencies, including physical presence at the site if necessary.
  • Must be able to provide high-speed internet access / connectivity and office setup and maintenance.
  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.

 

Base compensation ranges from $150,000 to $180,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration
