Overview

Conducts and leads primary and secondary research of advanced and emerging healthcare informatics technology with a focus on Generative AI and emerging Artificial General Intelligence technology for healthcare treatment, payment, and operations use cases. Creates research papers, analytical reports, proposals, and educational material. Conducts executive briefings, consultations, educational sessions, and formal training for select strategic technologies. Supports technology and innovation strategy efforts in partnership with Business Unit technology leaders. Maintains a deep understanding of technology trends and hands-on experience with relevant technologies. Supports research and development of the technology roadmaps, communicating technology-related updates to other departments and senior management, and collaborating with vendors and external clients. Manages the Academic Corporate Engagement (ACE) Program for Portfolio Prospecting and guides academic research, collaboration, and partnerships. Publishes research in peer-reviewed journals. Files patents for intellectual property innovations. Represents Cotiviti at academic and industry conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Management
    • Partners with Business Units to provide reliable intelligence, validated technology options and enterprise and industry perspective.
    • Advises execution of technology projects/teams, oversees day-to-day operations, coordinates projects, and ensures the successful delivery of technology solutions.
    • Manages corporate and academic research teams, practicums, internships, and vendor POCs.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Expected to have a deep understanding of technology trends, research, and emerging technologies relevant to the industry. Hands-on experience with the technologies being utilized.
    • Provide SME support in establishing and maintaining an Artificial Intelligence Governance Program.
  • Communication & Collaboration
    • Communicates and presents technology-related updates and requirements to other departments and senior management.
    • Collaborates closely with research and development teams, product management, and strategic analysts.
  • External Relationships & Partnerships
    • Collaborates with vendors, and conducts vendor evaluation.
    • Serves as a liaison between academic institutions, professional organizations, and research groups.
  • Other
    • Recruit, develop, coach, lead, and retain top-tier research and education talent through the ACE Program, with a focus on building and improving health tech knowledge and skills. Required.
    • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting. Required.
    • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned. Required.

Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent advanced degree in healthcare, technology, or a related field.
  • MS in Biomedical Informatics or equivalent specialized degree in healthcare technology.
  • 5+ years of professional & technical experience.
  • 5+ years of leading advanced research in an accredited academic institution.
  • Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional Certification (AIGP) - preferred.
  • HIMSS Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) - preferred.
  • Span of control: 5-10 academic research interns or practicum students.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • No adverse environmental conditions are expected.

Base compensation ranges from $150,000 to $165,000 annually. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

 

This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration
